High-Tech Manufacturing SEO Case Study

Challenge

A high-tech manufacturer of drone-detection and airspace-safety systems came to K6 Digital Marketing facing a problem familiar to a lot of advanced manufacturers: a genuinely innovative product, a real market need, and almost no organic visibility to show for it.

The company builds radar and sensor technology that helps the drone industry manage airspace safety, perimeter security, and the growing problem of unauthorized drones flying over sensitive areas like airports. The technology was sound and the timing was right, but entering a competitive market dominated by established players with deep pockets and existing brand recognition is daunting for any newer company, however good the product.

Ranking a younger business in Google’s organic results takes more than publishing a few pages. It requires real keyword research, an honest look at what competitors are doing, content that speaks to the actual buyer, and a website built to turn interest into conversations.

The client had just begun its first commercial shipments and needed a marketing approach that could keep pace with that momentum and put the product in front of the right audience.

Solution

K6 doesn’t use SEO templates. We built a strategy around their specific product, their specific buyers, and the specific corner of the market they were trying to win. Highly technical manufacturers rarely fit a generic marketing playbook, and a rigid process tends to leave the most important nuances on the table.

We started with keyword research to identify the high-value terms the client’s buyers were actually searching:  terms tied to radar technology, drone detection, AI sensors, and cost-effective infrastructure surveillance.

Strong keyword research only pays off if it’s used well, so our writers worked those terms into blog posts, press releases, page titles, and meta descriptions in a way that reads naturally to a human and signals relevance to a search engine.

The company redesigned their website to bring it more in-line with user expectations, and K6 worked alongside of the development team to provide foundational SEO insights.

We also built out a dedicated newsroom. For a company at this stage, getting the word out is half the battle. The newsroom gave the client a home for blogs and press releases about their technology and a place to showcase the considerable media coverage they were earning. Consistent, high-quality publishing builds the kind of credibility and thought leadership that technical buyers and industry stakeholders look for before they trust a newer name.

Throughout the engagement, we kept the conversation honest and results-focused with no inflated promises, no upselling services the client didn’t need. When the plan called for SEO, content, and web work bundled together, we built it that way rather than carving it into separate packages.

Results

Over the course of a year, the strategy produced measurable, compounding results.

The client generated 70 qualified leads, a clear signal of real market demand for their technology. Website traffic and keyword rankings grew steadily month over month — the kind of trajectory that reflects a durable content and SEO foundation rather than a short-lived spike.

Organic search brought in 7,130 users and 11,705 sessions, with an engagement rate of 66.2%. That engagement number is the one we pay closest attention to: it means the traffic wasn’t just arriving, it was the right audience finding content relevant to them and sticking around.

On the visibility side, the client earned coverage across more than 80 press releases highlighting their technology and market impact. That media presence did more than raise awareness — it helped establish the company as a credible voice in a field where buyers in public safety, defense, and industrial security need to trust who they’re working with.

A year in, a younger manufacturer in a crowded, competitive market had real organic traffic, real leads, and real industry recognition, built on a strategy tailored to their business rather than borrowed from someone else’s. That’s the difference a seasoned, flexible approach makes, and it’s the standard we bring to every client engagement.
