Real-World Google SERP Test: Akron Heart Care Providers

Google SERP Test for Akron Heart Care Providers

Recently my youngest brother Jim had a heart attack (he had Stents implemented and is doing fine). 15 years ago my other brother David had a heart attack, he survived and is doing fine also. 15 years ago I thought it would be wise to get some tests to see if I was at risk, it turns out I was healthy and not at risk.

So after Jim’s recent attack I started thinking that maybe I should get tested again, it has been 15 years. That lead to me trying to use today’s digital tools to find a heart care provider. I chose to use Google search first, using the phrase “heart care akron” as I live in the Akron area. (Full disclosure, I do work in the SEO industry).

Google Search

First I used mobile Google search, of course I get a map pack with a couple of results, what is interesting is the number one result is the listing “Heart Center,” it is farther away from me than the other listings, it has no reviews but it is first in the map pack, how does that happen? As it turns out the website behind the Heart Center listing is Akron Children’s Hospital. Still the result does not help me at all in my quest for heart care testing, but kudos for Akron Children’s SEO for getting map pack #1 result without much content of value to me.

Just doing a straight Google search provides no help to me in finding what I need.

Google Image Search

Google Images is not much help in helping me find a provider. Yes the buildings are nice and the people shown look healthy but I can’t tell from this view whether the entities shown can help me or not. Akron Children’s shows a picture with a cancer related label. I would say that the service providers have pretty much failed in using image SEO to answer my need for “heart care akron.”

Google Map Search

Google Maps again shows me the listing for ‘Heart Center’ like Google search did and it seems strange again to see such a bland name and nor reviews listed first, is the closest to me, maybe that is how it got listed first. Yes the buildings are nice and the people shown look healthy but I can’t tell from this view whether the entities shown can help me or not. Akron Children’s shows a picture with a cancer related label. Now the second listing, ‘Akron Heart and Vascular Center’ isn’t bad and may have what I need but I have to click through to find out.

Google Map’s isn’t much better than Google Maps at putting an effective response to what I am looking for.

Facebook Search

Next I tried doing a Facebook search for “Heart Care Akron” and didn’t get any help. Now I know that Facebook is not thought of a search engine but if I am a service provider of heart care you would think a Facebook page talking about it would be a valuable place to be. I would guess that millions of people using Facebook have heart concerns they are dealing with.

Pinterest Search

Google Images is not much help in helping me find a provider. Yes the buildings are nice and the people shown look healthy but I can’t tell from this view whether the entities shown can help me or not. Akron Children’s shows a picture with a cancer related label. I would say that the service providers have pretty much failed in using image SEO to answer my need for “heart care akron.”

LinkedIn Search

Google Images is not much help in helping me find a provider. Yes the buildings are nice and the people shown look healthy but I can’t tell from this view whether the entities shown can help me or not. Akron Children’s shows a picture with a cancer related label.

Based on this test, I would say that the service providers have pretty much failed in using image SEO to answer my need for “heart care akron.”
